I came upon this site that gives definitions of common used words in New Zealand...
Some of my favourites:
hottie: hot water bottle
beaut: great; good fun; "that'll be beaut mate"
blow me down: expression of surprise, as in; "Well! Blow me down, I didn't know that."
bugalugs: a bit like "mate" as in "how's it going bugalugs"
car park: parking lot
fringe: bangs
get off the grass: exclamation of disbelief; equivalent to "stop pulling my leg"
jandal: flip-flops
she'll be right: not a problem, it'll be O.K.
wet blanket: Someone who spoils the fun of others
sweet-as: a term people say instead of "cool" or "awesome"
